When I switch back and forth between priority and default inbox, tons of messages that have been moved out of the inbox appear and disappear with each switch. After disappearing, they will also pop back into view after relaunching the app, despite not changing the inbox type. So this is entirely on them. That said, you can add your Google account to Windows and you will be able to access your email, calendar and contacts in the native Microsoft Mail & Calendar apps. You could use Office Outlook, but calendar and contact integration is not available for consumer Gmail accounts.
